Azithromycin susp 100mg/5ml or 200mg/5ml
12mg/kg for the first day (maximum 500 mg) and then 6 mg/kg/dose (maximum 250 mg) for an additional four days
Or
Cefixime susp 100mg/5ml
(8 mg/kg/day in a single dose, maximum 400 mg/day) for five days; a shorter course of therapy (two days) was associated with bacteriologic failures
Above 17 years old
Ciprofloxacin tab 500 mg n=10
20 mg/kg per day, maximum 1 g per day in two divided doses for five days
